USA Blind Hockey Brief – Charlie Mitchell, member of Team USA and the Washington Blind Hockey Club, gave a talk at the 2020 Virginia National Federation of the Blind (NFB) Convention titled “Finding Hope through Blind Hockey and the NFB.” In his talk, Mitchell speaks about how finding blind hockey and joining the NFB changed his life and helped renew his hope for the future. “In blind hockey, I found a second family in the diverse and supportive community of blind hockey players across the country and the world. Together, getting involved in the NFB, getting training at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired (VRCBVI), and getting involved in blind hockey gave me not only the hope, but the confidence and the skills I needed to continue pursuing my dreams despite my deteriorating vision,” said Mitchell.
