Charlie Mitchell Featured in Washington Lawyer Magazine

Charlie Mitchell, member Team USA 2019-20 and the Washington Blind Hockey Club, was recently featured in the Washington Lawyer Magazine for “breaking limits on and off the ice.” Mitchell, a patent attorney in Washington, D.C., discusses how his degenerative retinal condition has, in many ways, been a blessing in disguise.

“If you look at it from the outside, you might think that it’s sad that a person is losing his vision. I’m not saying it hasn’t been hard, but now that I feel like I’ve come out on the other side, it has made me a better person,” Mitchell said. “It makes you think about what’s important in life and what your goals are and how you prioritize things. I’ve said in a lot of ways this has been a gift, and I know that might sound crazy, but it’s opened me up to these incredible experiences.” Check out the full article in the June edition of the Washington Lawyer Magazine (pgs. 39-40).
